Scottish Football Books: non-league
This is a listing of publications relating to Scottish football from outside the senior professional leagues. There is a vast amount of information published on the game at all levels, helped in recent years by the ease of self-publishing and the sterling work done by enthusiasts such as Stewart Davidson, who edited the Non League Review for many years and produced numerous other publications.
I have endeavoured to include all levels of football, from senior (at Highland and Lowland levels) to junior, amateur, juvenile and schools. A number of historical works cover regions or even small villages. The clubs are varied, large and small, and several are former members of the Scottish Football League, such as Third Lanark, Clydebank, East Stirlingshire and Berwick Rangers. As well as histories, I have listed a wide range of publications such as handbooks and even some programmes which contain useful historical information.
Many of these publications were printed in small numbers and distributed on a local basis only, so they can be difficult to source. Unfortunately I am unable to help in this respect - please note this is a bibliography, not a sales list!
If you think you can add to this bibliography, please email me through the Contact page.
